Goat Milk Soap Recipe Without Lye

An easy DIY if you're a beginner who wants to make your own goat milk soap with lots of natural ingredients. Give melt and pour soap making a try - it's easy and fun!

Ingredients

  • 24 oz goat milk soap base (melt and pour)
  • 2 teaspoon lavender essential oil
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon colloidal oatmeal or finely ground oats
  • few spritzes rubbing alcohol optional to reduce air bubbles

Instructions

  1. Cut 24 oz (3/4/ of total package) of soap base into small cubes
  2. Place in a measuring cup and melt in the microwave on 30 second bursts or over medium heat in a water bath until fully liquid
  3. Add honey, oatmeal, and essential oil and whisk
  4. Pour into mold
  5. Spritz the top with rubbing alcohol (optional, reduces air bubbles)
  6. Let cool down completely (about 2 hours)
  7. Release from mold by tugging on the sides of the mold first and then gently pushing from the bottom
  8. store in an airtight container away from moisture, heat and sunlight
