Equipment
- 4-quart glass measuring cup (heat-proof)
- sharp knife
- cutting board
- silicone soap mold
- whisk
- small spray bottle for rubbing alcohol (optional)
Ingredients for 6 Bars of Soap
- goat milk melt and pour soap base: 24 oz
- raw honey: 2 tsp
- colloidal oatmeal (or finely ground oats): 1 tsp
- lavender essential oil: 2 teaspoon (optional)
- rubbing alcohol (optional)
How to Make Goat Milk Soap
- Cut the soap base into small cubes - use roughly ¾ of the 2 lbs pack, eye-balling is ok. Place cubes in a glass measuring cup.
- Melt in the microwave on 30-second bursts, stirring after each one. Make sure not to overheat and scorch the soap. Alternatively, you can place the measuring cup in a slightly bigger pot halfway filled with water over medium heat on the stovetop.
- Add honey, oatmeal, and essential oil and whisk
- Pour into the mold until almost full to avoid overflowing
- Spritz top with rubbing alcohol - this is optional and will reduce the appearance of air bubbles. Purely cosmetic 😉
- Let cool down completely - this will take a couple of hours, you can speed this up by putting the soap in the fridge or freezer. Wait to move the soap until it's somewhat thick otherwise, it might spill.
- Release from mold by tugging on the sides of the mold first and then gently pushing from the bottom.
- Store in an airtight container, ziplock bag, or use plastic wrap. Keep the soap away from moisture as much as possible to extend shelf life.

On Amazon or at your local kitchen supply store, but you can use any container you have on hand. It needs to be big enough and heat proof/ microwave save.
